Ready to Become a Salesforce Lightning Champion?

By

So many #AwesomeAdmins are already champions of Lightning. By staying active in the community, and sharing your own learnings, you are helping others make the move to Lightning Experience. We are always inspired by how you help each other, so we’ve decided to kick off the Salesforce Lightning Champions Program!

Lightning Champions is a peer-to-peer program that encourages those who have already made the move to Lightning help those who haven’t yet started the trip. And, for those of you who are still in the planning or prioritizing stages and may think it’s more than just a quick hop to get to Lightning, we want you to learn from others who know what the road looks like. They can help you navigate any speed bumps, and together, we can help each other enjoy the ride.

We chose Texas Dreamin’ to kick off this program because it’s home to a quintessential Salesforce community. Texans are some of the most movin’ and shakin’ trailblazers around. We get it, that’s who you are. And we love you for it, so here we are!

Wow, did that just rhyme? Maybe Willie Nelson will help us write us a song about it. You reading this Willie?

If you would like to become a Lightning Champion it’s as simple as 1-2-3!

1. Learn

The first phase is to complete the Lightning Champion trailmix on Trailhead. This trailmix is designed to enable you to talk about the benefits of Lightning and identify features by their actual feature name. It will also walk you through the process for developing a rollout strategy with tips and best practices. It will also show you how to customize Lightning Experience, build custom apps using the Lightning App Builder, how to navigate workspaces, and also showcases some of our favorite content.

2. Do

After completing your trailmix, it’s time to get verified! There is a peer verification process that involves presenting the Lightning Champion presentation in order to showcase your knowledge of Lightning and rolling it out. You can sign up for the certification once you’ve completed the survey within the trailmix.

3. Show

Once you become a Lightning Champion, it’s time to take the show on the road. We want you to share your knowledge with the community. Your participation can include but is not limited to – presenting at Salesforce sponsored events, presenting at community events, writing about your experience and sharing that on a blog or on your favorite social media channel, or acting as a Lightning consultant at the Lightning Now Tour.

4. SWAG

It wouldn’t be a Trailblazer program without some sweet swag. Which is why we are doing a limited edition run of the Salesforce Trailblazer hoodie with the Lightning Logo on the back. Get yourself verified and start sharing your story, and you can get one too.

Not surprisingly, we have had some amazing interest from local Texas community members already and here are the ones who have certified themselves as champions. So if you are looking for someone to help you make the journey, reach out to these amazing trailblazers to see how you can learn their story.

Scott Luikart | Salesforce Administrator, Concierge Auctions

Salesforce has been a passion for quite a few years but recently learning of the new Lightning platform has been game-changing. Scott has worked at companies like IBM, Orbitz.com, LegalZoom and now Concierge Auctions. During his time as Principal Admin for Legalzoom.com he planned and executed on migrating a 1000+ user org to Lightning in a phased rollout. In the first days at Concierge Auctions his team made it a priority to move to Lightning so that they could use these great new features. They are going with a all-at-once plan since they are a 90 user group. In all of this change the agent experience is paramount to him when considering what they do next and how to execute on it.
