Have you ever created a formula field on an object for the sole purpose of getting data into a report? Are you an avid user of The Power of One? Well, hold on to your hats because with Summer ‘19, we now have row-level formulas in Salesforce!
Row-level formulas enable us to create custom formulas to display in reports right within Report Builder. That means we can now quickly add a Days to Close column in our Opportunity report without having to create a new field on the Opportunity object. This is a huge productivity win for Admins because it enables us to work with our data within the Report Builder and display what we need without extra configuration.
This is a beta feature, so there are some limitations, which can be viewed in the release notes, and you need to enable it in Setup under Reports & Dashboards Settings by checking the Enable Row-Level Formulas checkbox before using it:
