It’s been a month since we announced the Lightning Champions program, and we have been blown away by the response! You all rock and you are a daily inspiration.
In case you haven’t caught up with us in the last month, Lightning Champions is a peer-to-peer program that encourages those who have already made the move to Lightning help those who haven’t yet started the trip. And, for those of you who are still in the planning or prioritizing stages and may think it’s more than just a quick hop to get to Lightning, we want you to learn from others who know what the road looks like. They can help you navigate any speed bumps, and together, we can help each other enjoy the ride. If you want to learn more about the program, check out the Lightning Champions web page here.
And now…a new month, with a new announcement! We’re excited to share that…
The Lightning Champions program is expanding!
Going forward there will be two types of Lightning Champions. App Dev and Activation Champions. To date, all certified champions have been through the Activation program, which is designed to help deliver peer-to-peer support on making the move to Lightning. But, we recognize that activating and making the move to Lightning is a point-in-time process. There will be a date in the not-too-distant future in which all of the Ohana will be on Lightning, and activation will become a thing of the past. Sure, we are not there yet, but hey – it’s good to look towards the future, right? That’s where App Dev Champions come in. In addition to helping everyone make their sales and service processes rock on Salesforce Lightning, there are also Trailblazers out there who are particularly passionate about building apps on the Lightning Platform. We want to give them a platform to share their expertise, too!

With that in mind, we want to make sure everyone is empowered to get their questions answered and connections made when it comes to Lightning. A few folks from the community have asked about how to get in touch with Lightning Champions in order to get help and deeper insight on transitioning to Lightning. Fortunately, we live in a world of social media!

We encourage you to reach out to Champions via their Twitter and Linkedin profiles, as well as connect with them on the Trailblazer Community in the Lightning Now Group. All of those are included below. If you are looking for someone to help you make the journey, reach out to these amazing Trailblazers to learn their stories and make valuable leaps and bounds towards moving to Lightning.
