There are SO MANY great features in the Winter ’21 Release for admins. We’ve got a ton of great content coming in the next few weeks to share them all with you, but here are some of my favorites to kick it off.
Dynamic Actions
Even after all the fanfare of the last release, we’re still excited about Dynamic Actions because they’re now Generally Available (GA) for custom objects and in Beta for Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, and Cases. That means we can put an action button in the highlights panel that only appears when we want it to for our users, based on filters that we set using data from that specific record.

Lightning Performance Analysis
Want to know how to make your Lightning pages load faster? Use the new “Analyze” button in the Lightning App Builder to get immediate tips on how to improve your page. The Lightning Performance Analysis feature looks at the metadata on your record page, including fields and instances of the related lists component, and gives you an action plan to make your page perform better. An excellent way to make your users happier and your pages prettier.

Manage Deleted Fields in Lightning
Get your confetti ready: We no longer have to switch to Classic to manage deleted fields! Woot! With Winter ’21, you can now use the “Deleted Fields” button on the Fields & Relationships page in Object Manager to see all the fields deleted on an object, including who did it and when, and you have the option to permanently delete or undelete the field. All in ONE place.

Optimizer enhancements
Last release, Optimizer became a beautiful in-app experience. This release, Optimizer got some pretty sweet enhancements, such as monthly scheduling (now you can get rid of that monthly calendar reminder), historic trend tracking, and some new metrics including profile assignment and sharing rules for external users.

Enable Einstein Search
If you haven’t enabled Einstein Search yet, now you can in just three easy steps. In setup, there’s now a simple page to enable all the features of Einstein Search for your organization. Check the three boxes, save, and boom! Users love getting what they need quickly, which is exactly what Personalization, which is now GA, does for them. Enabling this will make your users so happy! You can also enable Einstein Search using permissions for more granular control if you’d like.
