By

Welcome to the Summer ’23 release! Every release, we bring you release highlights for admins with Learn MOAR. With Learn MOAR, you can discover top new features for admins in an easy-to-digest trailmix with blogs, videos, and more. There are a ton of great new features in this release, so I pulled together a few of my favorites. Read this blog post for the highlights. Then complete the Learn MOAR Summer ’23 for Admins trailmix to earn a special community badge.

First, let’s start with some big enhancements for us app builders.

Cloning for custom apps

With over 4,200 points on the IdeaExchange, please welcome cloning for custom apps! You can now clone the custom apps you’ve built, which saves you a ton of time from having to rebuild metadata. This is generally available (GA) after a few releases in Beta.

Horizontal alignment for Dynamic Forms

Design-minded admins, rejoice! You can now control exactly where your fields appear when using the 2-column view in Dynamic Forms, which keeps the fields next to each other no matter how much data appears in each field.

Quick actions supported on related lists (Open Beta)

Ever wish you could just update records on a related list without having to click into the related list view? Consider your wish (almost) granted. With this Beta feature, you can now configure custom quick actions both on the page layout editor in Setup and using the Dynamic Related List – Single component in Lightning App Builder. Because it’s Beta, only Create a Record and Update a Record quick actions are supported right now.

Custom property types and editors in Experience Cloud

Designers, there’s more goodness for you in Summer ’23. The custom property types and editors in Experience Cloud now enable you to configure new property types for screen flow elements, which means you can work with your developer partners to create more intuitive and efficient pages.

Forecasting has Bring Your Own Data (BYOD)

Yep, you read that right: Bring Your Own Data. With Summer ’23, you can now bring in data from external sources to show up as a column on the Forecast page. That means you can now unify all relevant forecast information directly in Salesforce.

Your Account manages more products

And, last but definitely not least, you can now see all of your contracts for all clouds in Your Account. That means you can manage your entire Customer 360 suite of apps in one place.

These are just my highlights, which means there are many more fantastic new features in Summer ’23 you should learn about in our other Learn MOAR blogs.
