Analytics Enhancements | Learn MOAR Summer ’23

The Summer ’23 release has a lot of great analytics enhancements specifically designed for admins, from the new Analytics tab to posting dashboards to Slack to sharing Tableau visualizations in Salesforce. Visit the new Analytics tab (Generally Available)

You now have one place to manage all your analytics with the new Analytics tab. All your reports, dashboards, and CRM Analytics (if enabled) data and insights are in this tab where you can organize them by Collections and intuitively search for what you need. Check it out by going to the Analytics tab in your Salesforce app.

From the App Launcher, select Analytics. On the Analytics tab, use search (1) and browse (2) to locate reports and dashboards. For You (3) organizes analytics for each user to help them find what they’re looking for quickly. Go to My Analytics (4) to access content from a chronological listing or from Favorites. Use Collections (6) to curate and organize analytics across different folders and share them with other users.

Add rich text and images to dashboards

Now that you can better organize your dashboards with the new Analytics tab, you can now make those dashboards more engaging than ever before by adding company logos and branding, flow diagrams, and embedded images. Click that Widgets button in the dashboard builder and get creative—add section titles, narrative text, and even animated GIFs. (Unlimited Edition only)

When editing a dashboard, click +Widget and select the type of widget to add.

Use more filters on dashboards

Now that you’ve got your well-organized and more engaging dashboards, you want the business to use them! In Summer ’23, you can spend less time cloning dashboards for multiple business units because we can now add up to five filters on Lightning dashboards. (Unlimited Edition only)

Post a dashboard to Slack

Your dashboards are organized, more engaging than ever before, and easily customizable without you having to clone them for each business unit. Now you want to share them everywhere! In Summer ’23, you can now share analytics with colleagues across your Slack workspaces and channels. When you post a dashboard to Slack, you can see dashboard details, share, subscribe, view a real-time snapshot of the dashboard, and quickly open the dashboard in Salesforce.

Share Tableau visualizations in Salesforce

Hey, #AwesomeAdmin #DataFam, we’re including you in our release highlights! There are a few new no-code Tableau features in Summer ’23 that we think you should know about:

Tableau Publish to Salesforce (Open Beta)

Tableau creators can now publish Tableau views directly to a CRM Analytics app or Lightning page, which means your users can get data insights within their Salesforce experience without leaving where they’re working. You can use this feature by enabling it in your Salesforce org and Tableau site.

Native Tableau LWC seamless authentication (Closed Beta)

You can now drag and drop embedded Tableau visualizations into Salesforce with seamless authentication. This means that because of connected app trusted tokens, your users no longer need to log in to view Tableau content. If you want to participate in the Beta program see the Tableau LWC help page.
