By

Do you know your responsibilities as a Salesforce Admin? Follow these 3 essential tips to keep your system safe, healthy, clean, and revolutionary. No day is the same, as you have to wear multiple hats and play different roles as a Doctor, Housekeeper, Evangelist, and Guardian of your Salesforce system. Find my top tips below.

Tip 1 – Manage your data securely

Be clear on your policies with users.

With your team, agree on your security and data management policies and manage them using reports and dashboards to police their application.

Make the most of Security and Data Tools.

Utilize some of the fabulous tools from the Security Health Check, Mydomain, and Security Features to manage user access and keep data secure.

Tip 2 – Look after the health of your system

Undertake your health checks.

Utilize some of the great features in Salesforce including critical updates, Salesforce Optimizer reports, health checks, and new releases.

Set up a Support Desk.

Use Service Cloud and Console to manage requests from users whether it’s fixes, health checks, or development work.

Tip 3 – Make the most of Salesforce

Find out what the organization needs.

Find out about the future strategy of the organization and the pain points that team members face. Propose Salesforce solutions that meet the needs of the executive team, down to the front-line staff, to create value for all.

Empower your users.

Learn about the products, features, and value of Salesforce, then share and train your team in the same knowledge to create a like-minded group of Salesforce champions at your company.

As you can see, there are a few plates to spin, so map out your daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks that you need to do. Make the most of the support around you to keep up-skilling, whether by tapping into Salesforce Partners, Trailhead, or the Trailblazer Community. Make the most of this knowledge and share it with others around you to create your Salesforce champion team. Finally, remember to apply project management skills and keep your users and customers happy by keeping everything in check and working like clockwork. Believe in yourself… You’ve got this!
