Exciting updates to Dynamic Forms

Since Dynamic Forms were made available on custom objects, Dynamic Forms on standard objects has been one of the most-requested features in the Idea Exchange. In the Winter ’23 release, you can make your account, including person account, contact, and opportunity record pages more robust by configuring them with Dynamic Forms. Dynamic Forms give admins the ability to customize field layouts from directly within Lightning App Builder, rather than having to go to the Page Layout Editor in the setup menu.

What this means for admins

With Dynamic Forms, admins have the power to create multi-use dynamic pages and customize the user experience.

Admins can bring in fields and field sections from the palette on the left-hand side. Record details can be broken up into multiple sections, rather than being limited to a single block of fields. Admins can set conditional visibility on fields and field sections, so that different fields are displayed depending on record detail. Fields can be marked as required or read-only. With Dynamic Forms, page performance improves due to progressive page rendering.

How to get hands-on

In Lightning App Builder, open an account (including person account), contact, or opportunity record page. Select the Record Detail component, and click Upgrade Now from the property panel on the right-hand side to upgrade the component to Dynamic Forms. To add additional fields and field sections, click the Fields tab from the panel on the left-hand side, and drag fields and field sections onto the page.
