During the competition, 45 teams built agents that integrated data, automated workflows, and provided actionable insights—all while ensuring user-friendly, efficient processes with Agentforce.

In this post, we’ll highlight four standout use cases from the Hackathon that demonstrate how admins can leverage Agentforce to solve complex challenges. Let these examples spark ideas for your next agent build!

1. Team Agent 12 provides intelligent career assistance

Agent 12 developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered career assistance agent to support nonprofit job seekers throughout their job search journey. This intelligent agent provides personalized job recommendations, assists with applications, and offers interview preparation guidance.

Implemented for a fictional nonprofit employment services platform, the agent streamlines the job placement process by dynamically refining search criteria, submitting applications, and delivering career-related insights. Through AI-driven interactions, their solution ensures job seekers receive real-time, tailored guidance to enhance their employment opportunities.

Solution and features used

To create a seamless and efficient experience for job seekers, the team leveraged these Agentforce features.

  • Agent Builder: They structured the agent’s conversation flow, defining topics and actions that guide job seekers through the job search and application process.
  • Prompt Builder: By creating structured prompts, Agent 12 enabled the agent to ask for relevant job search criteria such as industry, location, salary range, and key skills.
  • Einstein AI & RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation): The agent uses Einstein AI search capabilities to match candidates with job openings using natural language processing rather than rigid field matching.
  • Knowledge base: They uploaded career-related resources such as resume writing guidelines and interview preparation tips, which the agent retrieves when users ask for career guidance.
  • Experience Builder: This feature allowed the team to design an intuitive, user-friendly interface where job seekers could interact with the agent effortlessly.
  • Custom flow actions: The team automated job applications by creating custom actions that pull candidate details from the system and submit applications directly within Salesforce.

Tips for admins

  • Define key interaction paths: Map out essential user interactions (in this case, job searching, application submission, and interview preparation) to structure the agent’s conversation flow effectively.
  • Use Prompt Builder: Design dynamic prompts that adapt to user input for a more personalized experience.
  • Leverage AI to find information: Utilize Einstein AI and RAG-based searches to enable users to find the information they need by communicating in natural language rather than selecting from predefined fields.
  • Enhance the experience with Knowledge articles: Upload related content so the agent can provide relevant, in-depth guidance.
  • Automate with custom actions: Integrate workflows within Salesforce to auto-populate user information, streamline interactions, and reduce manual data entry.

Once your agent is built, continuously test and optimize it by monitoring user interactions, refining prompts, and improving workflows to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction.

2. Team Infinity and Beyond predicts truckload costs

Team Infinity and Beyond helped a small business that specializes in producing stuffed teddy bears optimize their cost predictions for full truckloads using Agentforce.

With the holiday season fast approaching, the company needed a reliable way to predict its future truckload costs. Enter Agentforce, a tool designed to seamlessly integrate data sources, like Salesforce’s Data Cloud and Knowledge articles, to provide accurate, real-time predictions.

Check out their use case below.

Solution and features used

The team developed a four-step solution to predict the cost per truckload using Agentforce. The system leverages historical sales data, predictive analysis PDFs, and Data Cloud, all communicated through the Experience Cloud interface. They built an intelligent agent to query these data sources, making it easy for employees to get predictions without needing deep technical expertise.

Here’s how it works: An employee logs in to the company website, accesses the agent interface, and queries the agent for specific information. For example, when asking about the recommended margin of error, the agent refers to the predictive analysis paper to pull the answer. It also fetches historical truckload cost data from Data Cloud and uses that, along with the margin of error, to predict this year’s Q1 costs—all in seconds.

Key features

  1. Data Cloud and Knowledge articles: They integrated historical sales data and a predictive analysis PDF into Data Cloud and the Knowledge base, respectively. These sources feed the agent’s queries.
  2. Agentforce and Experience Cloud: The agent uses queries to interact with these data sources, delivering answers directly to employees through the Experience Cloud interface.
  3. Flows and custom flow agent actions: They created a flow to pull cost data from Data Cloud, and agent actions help manage the interaction with both data sources.

Tips for admins

  • Integrate existing data: Use Data Cloud to map fields from external data sources to your existing Salesforce fields. This integration allows you to leverage historical data and predictive models in real time.
  • Leverage Knowledge articles: Upload PDFs or other documents to the Agentforce Data Library containing predictive analysis, then use them within Agentforce to guide your agents in making data-driven predictions.
  • Create custom flows for accuracy: Design flows that pull specific data based on user inputs (for example, past truckload costs), ensuring the agent can process requests accurately and quickly.

With Agentforce, admins can easily replicate this process for various predictive use cases, allowing businesses to make better decisions with minimal technical overhead.

3. Team AgentDreamer’s Edventure simplifies education pathways

Navigating the academic journey can be daunting for students and families. That’s what inspired Team AgentDreamer to create Edventure, an AI-powered solution that reimagines how high school and college students approach university applications, course planning, and academic decision-making.

See their solution below.

Solution and features used

The team used Salesforce’s versatile tools to design a comprehensive platform that empowers students and parents. With a single intelligent AI agent, Edventure delivers tailored recommendations, real-time application updates, personalized course suggestions, and simplified scholarship guidance.

Edventure’s goal is to make higher education more accessible and less overwhelming by eliminating manual processes and providing proactive, data-driven support.

Key features

  • Student and university management: Using flows, the system verifies student records or creates new ones if they don’t exist, ensuring accuracy. Universities are set up as Accounts with custom fields and related objects to track their unique characteristics, such as program options, tuition rates, and acceptance rates.
  • Streamlined applications: Students can search for universities that align with their academic goals and submit applications directly through the platform. Automated processes ensure that deadlines are met, and the agent keeps both students and parents informed throughout the application journey.
  • Dynamic course registration: Students use customizable search options like difficulty level, keywords, and program to discover courses tailored to their needs. Flows check availability and prerequisites, ensuring a seamless enrollment experience.

Tips for admins

Admins looking to build similar solutions can follow these steps.

  • Start with a strong data model: Create custom objects for applications, scholarships, and courses to ensure scalability and data organization.
  • Automate with flows: Use flows to handle repetitive tasks like creating or verifying student records and managing application statuses.
  • Tailor responses with Prompt Builder: Craft dynamic prompts that provide relevant guidance for users based on their input.
  • Test and iterate: Continuously test your agent with real-world scenarios to refine the experience and add new capabilities.

Edventure reduces manual workloads for students while improving decision-making with timely, data-driven recommendations. With further development and the use of Data Cloud, the platform could integrate advanced insights, such as professor ratings or regional university preferences, making it an even more powerful educational tool.

As admins, the potential to deliver impactful solutions like Edventure is limitless. With Agentforce and automation tools, you can transform complex processes into simple, user-friendly experiences.

4. Team Code Cortex empowers sales teams with financial insights

Team Code Cortex built a solution that empowers the sales team by providing streamlined access to critical financial insights, all without the need to navigate through multiple pages in Salesforce. This allows them to efficiently gather the information they need to make informed decisions or prepare for a meeting.

See the team in action.

Solution and features

Code Cortex leveraged an employee agent, customizing it with two additional topics to enhance its functionality. The agent was designed to route the sales team’s questions to the target topic, then trigger a custom flow action to retrieve and display the answer back to the user within the agent panel.

Key features

They used Agent Builder to create topics, each equipped with specific instructions, enabling the agent to route queries accurately and execute the corresponding custom actions.

The team also created multiple autolaunched flows called from custom flow actions related to the topics.

Last but not least, they configured a Data Cloud object to source information from AWS S3. One of their flows merged data from the Data Cloud object with Salesforce data, providing a comprehensive response to the users’ questions.

Tips for admins

  • Begin with a simple question or use case to acquaint yourself with the process.
  • Use detailed yet concise instructions so the agent can route the question to the topic.
  • Use a custom action calling the flow if the instructions can’t get the information you’re looking for.
  • Expand your data with Data Cloud to access information beyond Salesforce.
  • Be bold, be creative, and let your ideas flourish.
