What’s coming on the roadmap

Setup updates

Cheryl and Elizabeth opened the episode with a preview of Agentforce for Setup, a new Setup experience designed to streamline troubleshooting and configuration by enabling users to complete tasks with natural language prompts. Using the new utterance box in Setup Home, you’ll be able to type a request or question or select from recommended utterances.

Agentforce for Setup home

Agentforce for Setup is built to support your most relevant tasks, including creating objects and fields, managing users and permission sets, and troubleshooting user access. You’ll also be guided to relevant pages and can access help documentation directly in Setup.

Our product managers also shared some examples of agent actions that will be available in Pilot at Dreamforce 2025, including:

  • User management: Create, edit, and clone users, freeze users, reset passwords.
  • Flow & automation: Create flows, find flows based on specified criteria, describe flows.
  • Formula management: Explain formulas, troubleshoot formulas, update formulas.
  • And more!

If you’re interested in joining the Dreamforce 2025 Agentforce for Setup pilot, please sign up here.

The beta and subsequent releases will expand on the actions introduced during the pilot and extend into additional areas such as layouts and Lightning pages, email settings and templates, and more.

User access updates

With 39,000 points on the IdeaExchange, this highly requested user access enhancement is coming soon as an Open Beta in the Winter ’26 release: The User Object will now be available for Field History Tracking. You will be able to turn on this feature in User Management Settings and select up to 20 fields you want to track in Object Manager.

Looking ahead, you can also expect some enhancements to user access policies over the next few releases:

  • Start from zero action
    • Handle job role changes of removing existing access and replacing with new access
    • Ability to clear out a user’s access settings all at once
  • Actions and criteria enhancements
    • Support of Territory Assignments in actions
    • Handing of complex OR statements in criteria
    • Handle additional External User use cases around user type and role criteria
  • UAP + agents
    • Allow agents to help customers set up and modify user access policies
    • Have agents manually run a policy with approval/guidance from an admin
    • Have agents help handle approval workflows around user access policy enablement and changes

Over the next two releases, you’ll also see general user access updates as part of the larger roadmap, including:

  • Clone User
  • Troubleshooting a user’s access: Both permissions and record access
  • Access comparisons (users, profiles, permission sets)
  • Understand what changed about a user’s access over time
  • Summarize Setup Audit Trail

Be sure to watch the episode on demand to learn more about these announcements and see the Agentforce for Setup demo in action.
