#AwesomeAdmin Moments from 2017

By

What a year it was for Salesforce Admins! We debuted on Indeed.com’s Top Job List as the #4 tech job in the US. That means demand for people with Salesforce Admin skills is HIGH and employers see the value of those skills because they’re willing to pay significant salaries. Over the course of 12 months, 33 webinars, 89 blogs, and countless tweets; we loved seeing you learn, do well, and do good as you brought all your Awesome to life in your companies, careers, and communities.

As we head into an AHMMAAAAAZING 2018 (wait till you see what we have in store for you next), the team decided to take a look back and share our favorite moments with you!

Gillian’s favorite moment of 2017 was…

“Teaching a GirlDevelopIt workshop in Los Angeles in February and meeting community members who went on to start the WIT LA group. Some of those amazing folks even turned into Dreamforce speakers! I also loved visiting our global community at Tahoe Dreamin’, Southeast Dreamin’, Midwest Dreamin’, WITness Success; teaching Lightning Now Tours in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, DC, Portland, Orange County; meeting and awarding a local #AwesomeAdmin at the World Tour in Toronto; and spending time with my local user groups in San Francisco and Marin.”

Marc’s favorite moment of 2017 was…

“Doing my first demo at NYC WT in a rainbow ? snowsuit with LeeAnne and catching up with Cheryl Feldman! It was a great day and a perfect start to working with this amazing team!”

LeeAnne’s favorite moment of 2017 was…

“Two moments really stand out. First, creating the declarative content for the Lightning Now Tour and meeting so many admins who are inspired to lead their company to Lightning. And, being part of an all-lady keynote demo team for the Admin Keynote at Dreamforce.”

Mike’s favorite moment of 2017 was…

“On November 7 at Dreamforce when I met Christi Lopez from the Tampa area in Florida. Christi told me, “I got into Salesforce because of you. I read your blog 4 years ago and followed it ever since. I told myself ‘if he can do it, I can do it.’ Looking back it was such a pivotal moment in my life because now I’m a manager and I lead a team of Admins!”

I have to tell you, I was brought to tears.

I’m so excited to have Christi in our Admin Ohana and can’t wait to talk more with her as she plans to roll out Lightning early next year and “gets her hands on myTrailhead.”

Rachel’s favorite moment of 2017 was…

“Experiencing my first Dreamforce. I know that’s not a single moment, but it was so many wonderful moments rolled together I can’t quite pick one that stands out above the others. The times I couldn’t stop smiling that week were: whenever I got to meet a member of our Admin Ohana in person and they would give me a giant hug, and when I watched my amazing team ROCK the stage during the Admin Keynote! I was (and continue to be) so inspired by #AwesomeAdmins everywhere!”

Rebecca’s favorite moment of 2017 was…

“Meeting some really #AwesomeAdmins and capturing their stories in Chicago after Midwest Dreamin for the Lightning Admin video shoot. You are so inspiring and it was an honor to record and share your story!”

Becky’s favorite moment of 2017 was…

  1. Dreamforce ’17 Admin Keynote: “I joined the Awesome Admin team in August and we immediately got to work on the Dreamforce ’17 Admin Keynote. I was amazed at the love and care the entire team puts into creating an inspiring and FUN learning experience for #AwesomeAdmins at every stage of the learning cycle. I loved learning Erik Peterson, Shonnah Hughes, and Bindu Jallabah’s Salesforce stories and getting to know their powerful passion for productivity and innovation. I’ll never forget the look of wonder in Bindu’s eyes when she saw the demo LeeAnne built based on the Girl Develop It use case. The energy in that keynote room on November 9th when 3K+ AWESOME Admins came together with so much excitement, pride, and determination to learn and grow was pretty mind-blowing! ICYMI: check out the recording.”
  2. #LifewithGoldie “Speaking of wonder, it was all mine as I discovered some incredible Trailblazer stories with our latest Awesome Admin award winners Scott Luikart, Amanda Styles, Kris Salava, Barbara Dietz, and Nicholas Grant. It was so fun to see them all honored for doing well and doing good within and beyond the Trailblazer Community. I loved seeing the joy in Cheryl Feldman’s eyes when I told her we had a Golden Hoodie for her and all the other past Admin Award winners (Cheryl was the first in 2014). And boy, did that crew light up the Admin Keynote stage with all their shiny golden awesomeness!”

Now we want to hear from you!
