Hooray for exciting, new Flow enhancements

We’re feeling the Flow in Summer ’22! There are some phenomenal Flow enhancements coming with this release (way too many to fit into this one blog!), but here are some of the most significant ones you should know about. If you want to free-dive into all the Flow enhancements coming, check out Jen’s Summer ’22 mega blog and the release notes.

Migrate to Flow tool (GA)

Now Generally Available (GA), this tool helps you migrate your workflow rules, including most rule criteria workflows, to a record-triggered flow. Flow is the future of process automation in Salesforce, and this is a fantastic way to help you flow into the future. There are some limitations, so please make sure you read the release notes and the Migrate to Flow Tool Considerations Help article for details.

Send screen flows to Slack with an invocable action (Beta)

Get ready to be a #Slackstar using your #Flownatic skills! In Summer ’22, this Beta feature (only available in sandboxes right now) allows you to send a message to a Slack channel, direct message, or the Messages tab of a Slack app that includes a button the recipient can use to launch a flow.

Use formulas as entry conditions

As Jen Lee writes, this is a huge win for #Flownatics! You can now use Formula Builder in the Start element of a record-triggered flow, meaning you can access related records and build complex queries without having to build a custom formula field and reference it in the flow entry criteria.

Locate connected Flow elements fast with Go To connector enhancements

Do you ever get lost in your flow canvas? Well, the Go To connector elements are here to help! The Go To connector element locates the outbound and inbound connections. It’s pretty awesome.

Check it out below.

Add a section header to your screen flow

Tap into your designer’s mindset skill and make your screen flows easier to navigate by adding section headers to organize what your users see. It’s a great way to optimize your screen space (sections are collapsible) and increase usability.

Place name and address record fields directly on flow screens (Beta)

Woohoo! You can now create flows faster by using Name and Address data field types.

These are just some of the fabulous, fun Flow features coming in Summer ’22. There are Flow Trigger Explorer improvements, Flow Orchestrator enhancements, and more, so be sure to check out the release notes and Jen’s Summer ’22 mega blog for details.

Don’t forget to watch the Summer ’22 Admin Preview on May 20 during Release Readiness Live to see demos of a subset of these new, exciting features. And be sure to check out the Learn MOAR Summer ’22 for Admins Trailmix and follow along on the blog this week for more Learn MOAR!
